I absolutely love the look of birch trees and birch bark. So, naturally, I use them regularly in my decor. I came across this adorable (and clever) way of using birch bark to make artwork.

So, I found an Ikea frame I was no longer using and decided to make a triptych.
I painted the backing a charcoal grey, because I’m loving charcoal grey right now, and then simply took my birch bark and cut it up in different sizes to make the “trees”.
I played around with the placement of the trees a bit until I found an arrangement I liked.
Once I had it all in place, I just taped the “trees” down. I initially tried to glue them, but glue didn’t work as well as tape. I also copied the two little owls that are in the inspiration pic, because they are so friggin cute.
Here is the finished triptych. I added the little pink heart, because Valentine’s Day is around the corner.
I love how it turned out. It could be used as nursery decor (not that I’m having any more kids!!!!!), but for now, I like it in my office.
That’s it for the mid-week blog post. I’ll be back on Saturday.
