As we all know, the Fifty Shades of Grey movie has recently debuted. While I don’t have any immediate plans to see the movie (not because I think it’s smut, but because I have too short an attention span for a full length movie), I did, however, read the books. I’m not going to try to persuade or dissuade anyone from reading the books or going to see the movie. We’re all consenting adults here, and can make our own choices…. get it??? Lol.
Anyway…. I did create some artwork inspired by the colour grey, and all its shades.
Here is my completed 50 shades of grey paint chip artwork.
This was a pretty simple project that probably doesn’t require a whole lot of explanation. I just went to Lowes, grabbed a whole whack of grey(ish) paint chips, cut them up, and taped them in place. I used 2 frames that were just sitting in my laundry room. I also picked up an old grey tie and black belt from Goodwill.
I arranged the paint chips how I wanted it to look overlapping them as I went. I then cut the belt to size and added it inside the frame. I used the belt in this frame, since it’s kind of a shadow box.
I repeated the same process, and added the tie to the second frame.
I like that this project was extremely easy and can be customized to whatever colour scheme you want. It would even be cute for Father’s Day perhaps.
That’s it for my mid-week post. Thanks so much for stopping by. I’ll be back on Saturday with a new blog post. See ya soon 🙂
