This is by far my favourite tablescape I’ve done yet. I’ve been waiting almost a year to do it, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out.
My brother and wonderful sister in law purchased a cottage last August just down the beach from our family cottage, and I’m absolutely over the moon happy for them and their little ones. To help say Congrats, I wanted to put together a special table, that was inspired by the beach.
Here is the completed tablescape, which was tailored to suit their cottage colour scheme.
My favourite item is the chargers. I spray painted them a cream colour, and my daughter and I glued the shells on the outer rim using a hot glue gun. I burnt my finger doing this, but it was totally worth it. I LOVE these!!!!
There were a lot of natural elements brought into this tablescape. From the shells to the driftwood to the sand to the starfish, we have the whole beach theme covered. Lol..
These beachy plates were purchased by me ages ago because I liked the colour and design. Even though I liked the, they never fit into my decor at home, so I was more than happy to gift these cute plates to them as part of the tablescape.
These starfish were purchased at a gift shop in Florida. I love the colour and texture of these accessories.
Here is the whole dining room set up. This gorgeous rustic table sets the mood for casual dining. The chunky table legs paired with the eiffel chairs is a perfect juxtaposition of elegance and style. Both were purchased for their overall durability (since they have three young boys), but still work beautifully together.
The sea shell chandelier is also a gorgeous addition, and sparkles in the sunlight.
. The candle centrepiece was filled with sand from the beach just outside. Silly me forgot to light the candles for the pictures… Duh….
These adorable napkin ring holders were found at a thrift store, and are actual shells. I nearly squealed when I saw them. I was that excited. I simply placed a smaller starfish on top to add some flair.
These sweet little driftwood tea light holders were found at a local virtual garage sale website. I forgot to bring tea lights, so these are filled with shells instead.
Cute accessories set the stage for this beautiful lakeside cottage.
It was such a pleasure getting to spend time last weekend at this cute cottage with loved ones. The large picture window looks out on to the beach and lake, where the most beautiful sunsets can be seen.
That’s it for today’s post. I’ll be back again on Friday to show you what I’ve been up to for July’s #30DayFlip challenge where I add colour to a space. I better get busy. Lol. See you then 😉
