As we say goodbye to 2015, and welcome in the new year, I’d like to take a couple minutes to reflect back on some of the successes we’ve shared in 2015.
I try not to get too heavily influenced by the blog stats, but they can be fascinating to take a look back and see what interested people the most.
The most popular post in 2015 (by a hair) was my Cozy Reading Nook, featured here.
Coming in a close second was the post I completed for the #30dayflip challenge in May, where I transformed an underutilized space into an outdoor dining area, complete with a little garden gallery wall. You can read more about this transformation here.
And lastly, comes my post that was the most popular of all my pins on Pinterest. It’s my DIY Tiki Bar I created for my daughter’s birthday party. You can read all the DIY instructions here.
So, as 2015 comes to a close, it becomes time for me to set some new goals for 2016. Since I started this blog in early 2015, I’ve gotten to know some amazing bloggers and readers along the way that I now consider friends. My goal for 2015 was to start a blog, and I’ve learned a TON of new things about blogging this past year; mostly, how little I actually know about blogging. Turns out that learning the technical details about how to set up and run a blog is only the very tippity top of the blogging iceberg. I’m setting my sights high for 2016 and I’m anxious to get started.
I’m hoping to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone; starting with Periscope. If you haven’t yet heard about it, it’s a really cool app on your smartphone that allows you to view a LIVE broadcast from your favourite bloggers, DIYers or whoever you want. You can also interact with me using a text format during the live broadcast and ask questions and make comments. Be nice…. it’ll be my first time. If you want to see me stumble my way through my first broadcast, just download the app (Periscope) and follow me – apurdylittlehouse. You’ll get a notification on your phone as soon as the broadcast is live. I’ll be doing a LIVE feed on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 at 12noon, and I’ll be featuring how to style a bookcase using organizational and DIY items from thrift stores, the dollar store, and decor items I’ve made myself. Here is more info:
I can’t wait to see what 2016 brings and I wish you all a safe and Happy New Year!!!! If you’re looking for some inspiration for a New Year’s Eve tablescape, I’ve got you covered.
