Since my youngest daughter’s birthday is in the colder months (and we have to stay inside for all of her parties), we decided to make the most of it, and throw a Girls’ Spa Party.
One of the best aspects of throwing this party was getting to finally use my Chandelier Cupcake Stand I made years ago from a huge old brass chandelier that I bought off a seller from Kijiji for $20.00.
To keep the girls entertained, we had a lady and her daughter come to our home to provide the ‘Spa’ services, which included a spa foot bath, back massage, and foot rub.
The girls also were treated to a personalized and stylish up-do.
And they even got their nails done. So cute!!!!!!!
Back to the chandelier…..
For this project, I simply snipped the wires and removed the lights from the chandelier. I bought terracotta pot bases, which were tuned upside down and glued in place with a strong construction adhesive. Then, the whole thing was spray painted a cream colour. The top decorative plate was purchased at a thrift store and also sprayed the same colour. I love the top plate, as it can be used to house a cake, and the individual stands can then be used to display decor or coordinating cupcakes. So fun, right?
These cupcakes were thrown together last minute with a slice of a cute fruit cake roll and added to the top for some variation. I also used these rolls as “sushi” for the girls to munch on while getting their spa treatments. Party on!
That’s it for today everyone. I’ll see you again on Thursday 🙂
