Now that summer is in full swing, I’m going to shake things up a bit and do something a little different. I’m typically a DIY and decor kind of gal, but today, I’m going to show you a fun little drink recipe I came up with combining two of my favourite summer treats: Watermelon and Mojitos!!!!
These Watermelon Mojitos are so fresh and delicious, I could drink these every day. I probably shouldn’t, but I could. I’ve even included a kid’s non-alcoholic version.
This fun recipe is part of the Spectacular Summer Blog Hop, where 11 bloggers have teamed up to bring you fun and exciting DIY’s, recipes and free printables. Make sure to follow along all summer long.
To make these fun Watermelon Mojitos, the fresh ingredients you’ll need are:
- fresh mint
The liquid ingredients you’ll need are:
- white rum. I like Bacardi, but whatever type is fine.
- lime juice
- watermelon soda
To make these Watermelon Mojitos, I started off by muddling my lime in the bottom of a highball glass. I used the end of a fork, because I don’t have a real muddler.
Next, I added in 1 ounce of rum and some ice. After that, I poured in a spritz of lime juice (1 teaspoon) and topped if off with the watermelon soda.
I used a wedge of lime and watermelon as a garnish. It has to look pretty, am I right?
Add a cute straw and we’re done. Bam! Watermelon Mojitos.
The kid’s version is as follows:
- muddle mint in the bottom of a glass
- add a spritz of lime juice (about 1 teaspoon)
- add ice
- top it off with watermelon soda
- garnish with lime and/or watermelon
Happy Summer my friends. Enjoy your watermelon mojitos responsibly.
See you next time,
