Although it doesn’t feel much like Fall around here, we’re still gearing up for all the beauty and coziness the season will bring. If you’re coming from North Country Nest, then welcome. Don’t you just love how Brett and Kelly have made their home so warm and comfy for the Fall?

I’m so happy to be teaming up with some truly talented ladies to bring you this Fall Blog Hop and a huge thank you to Angelina from Peonies and Orange Blossoms for hosting. Be sure to check out how my blogging friends have decked out their homes for Fall at the end of this post.

Fall Home Tour featuring neutrals, metallics and fabric pumpkins

We’re going to start our tour in the formal living room, where I went with a neutral palette.

I added more Fall touches with antlers and pinecones along with some faux leaves from the dollar store.

I made these striped black and white pumpkins last year and they still work with the neutral scheme and also work with my Halloween decor too. Bonus!!!

This gold bull head was a score from Walmart and I took cues from that when I decided to use metallic accents.

These faux leaves brought just the right amount of orange to the white mantel and fit in well with the shiny metallic tones.

I also have my seasonal chalkboard all ready to go for Fall.

More metallic blended with Spanish moss and pinecones make for a unique tabletop display.

Fall Home Tour Dining Room using neutrals

Right off the formal living room is the dining room, where the neutral colours are carried through.

I recently ditched my tired old pleather parsons chairs for these fun custom benches.

I used some old wood shutters as a table runner and piled some Fall decor on top.

These fun Fall plates were scooped up from the Dollar Tree for $1.25 each.

I think my favourite part of the table is the little wooden truck I thrifted years ago, complete with pinecones in the truck bed.

I used more black and white in the dining room, but instead of stripes, I went with a buffalo check.

My dining room is pretty neutral, so dressing up the table in a fun and quirky way is always a blast.

Heading through the kitchen is our den, which has pretty much been taken over by our new puppy. I did manage to do a little Fall decorating though on the mantel including adding a placement as artwork in Fall colours.

Cornucopia Fall Tablescape

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinteresttumblrinstagramFacebooktwittergoogle_pluspinteresttumblrinstagram

It’s (almost) Fall Ya’ll. I’ve turned the corner on this new season and have finally let go of my denial about Summer ending. I feel like it was ‘the summer that never really was’, if you know what I mean? One thing that I love to do to celebrate anything, whether it’s a special occasion or a changing season, is to put together a tablescape. #iamadorkandiknowit

Fall Tablescape inspired by a cornucopia and orange tones

This Cornucopia Fall Tablescape was fun to put together and I’m happy to be sharing it along with links to my blogging friends’ Fall Inspired Tablescapes as well. Be sure to check them out at the bottom of this post.

If you know me, I usually always stick to neutrals in my seasonal decor, but not this time my friend! I went for bold and bright very traditional Fall colours, with a little turquoise mixed in for good measure.

I picked up this cornucopia at a thrift store years ago and have never really used it. When I was debating (with myself) about what I wanted this table to look like I decided to make the center of the table it’s own veritable cornucopia.

Some fun pumpkins from Target, Dollar Tree and Michaels were also added to give some texture.

I went with paper napkins from the dollar store for this table (how un-chic, huh?), but I love the colours in them and they work perfectly with the Fall tones I was aiming for.

I bought these pears years ago from the Dollar Tree and spray painted them gold. I pull them out every now and then because they really do work well with so many different themes.

Very colourful and cheery table against a neutral backdrop makes for a bright and energetic atmosphere.

The turquoise tablecloth was picked up at a thrift store and I loved how the Spanish tile shape mimics the wallpaper. I also love how well it contrasts with the burnt orange tones in the larger tablecloth. Sometimes opposite ends of the spectrum work surprisingly well together.

I didn’t have a chance to stain my new benches, yet, but you get the idea.

Happy Fall Everyone!!! Be sure to check out what my blogging friends have put together for their Fall Inspired Tablescapes.

Hydrangea Hanging Basket Door Wreath

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinteresttumblrinstagramFacebooktwittergoogle_pluspinteresttumblrinstagram

As summer is winding down, I find myself wanting to soak up all the sunshine and pretty summer flowers that the season brings. My favourite summer flower is by far the hydrangea, so when I found this fun basket at a thrift store, I knew I had to make this cute hydrangea hanging basket door wreath.

I started out with this black hanging basket I found at a thrift store. I know it’s a little lopsided, but for $1.00, I knew I could make it work.

I picked up some pretty faux hydrangeas and greenery from the dollar store, along with some floral foam.

I started out by stuffing the floral foam into the basket.

Next, I snipped some of the wire using wire cutters and then started layering in some greenery on the sides and the back.

For the last step, added in the hydrangeas and leaves in the middle.

I love how it turned out and I think it’s the perfect late-summer door decor.

I’m totally digging the black and purple tones together.
