Anyone who knows me knows how much I absolutely love orchids. They are delicate, curvy, and elegant. Although I love the look, I do not have a green thumb, so the fake variety is for me.
Here’s a close up of the faux orchids in my daughters room. I picked these up at a thrift store for $6.00.
Here’s a shot of the orchids on her dresser. I love that they add a more mature feel to her room, as well as colour and texture.
Featured in this pic is the faux orchid (purchased at Home Sense) on my living room ottoman.
I love the subtle curve this orchid has, and it’s one of my only decor items that doesn’t get switched out with the seasons. It stays out year round, and makes me smile whenever I walk in the front door.
This orchid sits in my master bedroom on my slim laptop desk. I’m especially proud of this orchid, since I managed to keep it alive for over a year.
But alas, my lack of gardening know-how prevailed about a month ago, and I eventually had to replace the dead orchid with a fake one. Lol.
Even my book nook wasn’t exempt from the orchid treatment. I covered the pot with some leftover fabric that matched the fabric in the nook.
A little faux greenery finishes the space off nicely. Let’s check out some inspiring pics of how designers have used orchids as focal point in their designs over the years.
That’s it for the mid-week post. Thanks so much for checking out my blog. I’ll be back on Saturday with a new post. See you then 🙂
