Our first home was a townhouse, and it seemed HUGE at first. We loved it. Then one, two, three kids came along, and we knew that we needed more space. We moved into our current house about 2.5 years ago, but I find that there are still some elements about our old townhome that I miss. So, here we go on a tour of our old living room.
The palette was a neutral silvery blue and brown. The paint colours are called French Silver, and Bird’s Nest. I loved my chocolate accent wall, and I really miss having a fireplace in my living room (even if this one was just an electric one).

I also miss the shelving units around the fireplace. They were great for storage and displaying pretty items. While my husband was away in British Columbia for 2 days, I hustled to finish this room off to what it looks like here. My surprise reveal included painting all the walls, including the accent wall, and building the shelves on both sides of the fireplace.
I also miss my gallery wall, which was easily put together using craft paint, and a wall stencil that I cut up into smaller sections, and stuck to the painted backing of the frame.
Most of the furniture in our old living room is from Ikea. I’m a fan of the Karlstad; mainly due to its versatility. I also love the media unit that now sits in our rec room of the new house. The tripod lamp is a favourite of mine, and I made it nearly 5 years ago, using an actual camera tripod I purchased on eBay, and a standard lamp kit.
That’s it for my trip down memory lane. See you next time my friends,
