We’re back for the April *Renew*Refresh*Restyle* Challenge, where we transform a piece of furniture every month using a different medium. I’m so happy to have been able to update my Girl’s Room Hutch for a fun little makeover in my youngest daughter’s room this month in a soft mint tone.
Before we get started, let’s meet the hosts:

I started my project off with choosing a really pretty and subtle mint colour called Breezeway, by Behr. This type of paint is considered an acrylic paint, so it worked out perfectly for this month’s challenge.
This is the hutch that’s in my daughter’s room right now. I love this hutch. It’s an antique reproduction and has been passed down from my oldest daughter, to her middle sister, and now to her youngest sister. I’m going to be re-doing her room completely later this month and I want this piece to stay, so it needed to be freshened up.
It has been well loved and was starting to look a bit too shabby. These stains would NOT come out, so the only option was to paint over them.
Here is the Before pic, after everything was cleared off and the hutch was given a good cleaning.
I realize the soft mint is very soft and hard to see in this picture, but it is a HUGE improvement from over a decade of use.
The mint tone totally works with the style of the piece, and it’s going to match the theme of her new room too.
This quick and easy refresh was the perfect addition to the space, and although the new colour is hard to see in these pictures, it really does have a lot more presence in person. You’re gonna have to trust me 😉 Be sure to check out what my blogging friends have been up to with transforming their pieces:

See you next time my friend,
OMG, WHAT A NICE TRANSFORMATION . I love what you did here.
Love this piece of furniture, nice cleanup.
I love mint! I can see it better in one photo than in the other and it is beautiful. You did a great job with the painting. Sometimes those big pieces with little nooks and crannies can be a beast! I am sure she is thrilled with it.
