Welcome to my home and the It’s a Wonderful House Christmas Home Tour, hosted by the amazing Angelina from Petite Haus, where her love of French Country design is truly awe-inspiring. Be sure to check out the other blogger’s home tours listed at the bottom of this post.
This is such a fun blog hop that I look forward to every year and I’m so glad that you’re here! If this is your first time visiting me, then welcome. If you’re hopping over from Virginia Sweet Pea; wasn’t Paula’s living and dining room stunning, with all those amazing vintage finds?

This is my formal living room right off the entryway. I’ve gone in a very different direction this year and it all started with some copper decorations and a little velvet fabric. I had plans to paint the back wall cubbies in a dark grey colour to match the couch, but time is not always on my side. It’ll get done; just not in time for Christmas.

For my tree, I went with a combination of copper, jewel toned blue and gold. This is only a 6.5 ft. tree, but to make it look a little bigger, I managed to prop this one up on some baskets and used a fuzzy blanket as a tree skirt.

I found this AMAZING velvet fabric in the same jewel toned blue that matched the ornaments, so I made some throw pillows and stockings with the leftover fabric.

I managed to stay on a budget with my decor by shopping at dollar stores and through online garage sales to pull in some of the copper accents.

For my garland and wreaths, I mixed in real clippings and magnolia leaves. I LOVE that the underside of the magnolia leaves helps tie all the copper tones together. Such a happy accident, that I might just have to re-create next year.

These candle holders are a favourite of mine that I picked up for about $3 each at a thrift store about 6 months ago. I had initially planned on spray painting them, but decided against it when I saw how perfect they look as is.

The other side of the

If you’ve ever seen one of my home tours before, you’ll notice right away that there have been some big changes in my living room. New furniture and new configuration. I rarely show this angle of my living room (mostly because it’s usually stacked with craft supplies), but I cleared it all out! Yay me. Here, you can get a better look at the throw pillows I made to coordinate with the new look.

Another view of the living room. I added new artwork and my mini white christmas village on top of the bookcase.

Off the formal living room is my dining room.

It’s not a huge space, but it gets the job done. I carried the warmer copper and brown tones into the dining room to help tie it all together.

I picked up these awesome copper placemats at Walmart and I love how they look like metal grates. I think they look perfect paired with my Dollar Tree snowflake plates too.

These copper mugs are the best for drinking Moscow Mules, but their shimmer if also perfect as Christmas decor.

I was really going for an elegant, yet warm and cozy feeling this year and I think I got it (I hope…)

For my

Ok, so putting this bedroom together for Christmas was seriously so much fun. I carried the velvet theme upstairs by sewing 3 huge euro pillows and they make everything so elegant. I LOVE them.

My husband was with me when I bought the cheetah print and he kept saying how cheetah wasn’t Christmassy, but I think he’s wrong. It may not be Christmassy on it’s own, but paired with the right combination and it’s definitely working for me.

I created this little Christmas vignette using items from the dollar store. No need to spend a lot of money to create something cute.
